Payson Pines Wildfire Community Preparedness Day
May 6, 2023
Help lower our on-site fire danger as we approach the time of year when we start the annual drying trend. This is a chance to show that our community can work together for the benefit of all residents.
Residents are asked to clip, prune and rake their property, and deposit the material at the curbside, where we will pick it up and haul to the local brush pit on the event day. Trash bags available.
Residents are encouraged to start the Firewise process on their homes the week preceding the event so we can start the pickup process early enough to transport to the burn pit that day.
Examples of vegetation would include pine needles that surround the home, limbs trimmed from trees on the property that hang low; or over hang the roof; needles cleaned out of rain gutters, weeds and brush.
No household trash or metal is permitted to be taken to the brush pit.
Limit tree cutting to less than 6” diameter and under 4ft. long.
Boy Scouts of America again will have a few young men to provide assistance. Please call-in advance for scheduling. Additional volunteers are also needed, so please contact me prior to the event. The volunteers and Boy Scouts will not be able to clean rain gutters, because of the liability issue.
