Thank you for Making Payson Pines Firewise Day 2024 a Success.
Payson Pines 2024 Firewise Day, May 4, 2024 was a HUGE success! Bob Rick, the Firewise Committee chairman, reported that 10 Payson Pines, resident volunteers and help from the local Boy Scout Troop collected more than eight, 12-foot trailers full of branches and tree limbs and more than 50 bags of leaves and pine needles went to the brush pit for safe disposal.
It took four trips to the pit to unload all of the collected debris.
The Entertainment Committee provided tea, pizza, brownies and marshmallow treats for all of the volunteers and Scouts. Thank you Jackie Draves and her committee!
The material collected on Firewise Day will help keep Payson Pines certified as a Firewise Community, which may help reduce your homeowners insurance premium. As Payson Pines is bordered by the Tonto National Forest on three-sides, keeping your property “Firewised” is a smart investment!
Payson Pines Firewise Day is the first Saturday in May every year and coincides with National Firewise Day.
